FOOTLIGHT FLASHES.
Frank Leighton, whom I last saw, on my recent holiday in Sydney, making a film -apposite Helen Twelvetrees, has gone into the new musical comedy “Jill Darling ” in Melbourne. * * * * Russell Chapman, who will tour New Zealand with the Williamson dramatic company headed by Elaine Hamill, the former Hamilton girl, is a son of Lorna Forbes, who was for so long with the Allan Wilkie Shakespearean Company. Evelyn Gardiner, of the Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Company, now in Auckland, was in New Zealand with the last company presenting these famous operas, a few years ago. Reginald Dane, an English actor who first came to New Zealand in the successful war play 44 Journey’s End,” will return to the Dominion at Easter in the company headed ,hy Elaintf Hamill.
