Mr Lincoln Ellsworth, who ha* flown to Canberra from Melbourne today in a Royal Australian Air Force machine, was entertained by the Commonwealth Cabinet at luncheon. The Prime Minister, Mr .1 A. Lyons, emphasised the cordial relations existing between Australia and the United States. ” Our two countries bordering on Hie Pacific have much in common,” he said. ” In our hands lies largely the maintenance of peace in the Pacific and we feel we have a little more interest In the exploits of a representative of America than in those or any other national.” Mr Lyons said Australia had been pleased lo take part in what might be regarded as the rescue of Mr Ellsworth, particularly as some small return for the splendid gesture of Hie United .Slates in so vigorously conducting the search for Hie late Mr Charles Urn.
