The No. 1 grass track, with the poles 10 Teet out from the rails, was available for fast work at Ellerslie this morning and the course was in first-class order, Some useful efforts were recorded, the best being those of Rereatu, Gay Marigold, Val spear. Sir Abb and Psychologist. On Parade had Knight or Australia as a companion over a round which they covered in 1.55. They ran the last six Turlongs in 1.19 2-5 and On Parade was shading his companion at the finish. Gascllle ran seven rurlongs in 1.34 2-5. It was a good effort for a juniper though he was kept up to his work all the way. Wee Pat and Tea Chat went away in front of the six furlongs post and were timed to run the last five in 1.7 2-5. Wee Pat did her work well. The best sprint or the morning was that of Rereatu and Psychologist who got to the end of five furlongs in 1.3 2-5. They ran the first two in 24 4 5s and although there was nothing between them at the finish. Rereatu pleased most. Bayora and Lone Flier were timed to run half-a-mile in 52 3-ss, finishing on terms.
