The Maoriland side, batting first., made 263 (Dunning 38, Walter 30, Riley 46, Bright 72). Suva scored 186 in its first innings. Massey took 'five wickets for 28 runs and Riley five for 83The New Zealand team declared for two wickets in its second innings with the score at 83 (Dunning 54). Suva had lost, six wickets for 96 in its second innings at stumps. Riley took three wickets for 39 runs. The New Zealand players quickly adapted themselves to the strange conditions, all the batsmen shaping particularly well. MELBOURNE, Dec. 22. The Sheffield Shield cricket match between Victoria and Queensland was concluded yesterday, Victoria winning on the first innings by 338 runs. Victoria made 522 for nine wickets declared in its first innings, and Queensland, scoring 184 in its first innings, was obliged to follow on. In its second innings Queensland had lost five wickets for 234 (T. Allen 100, C. Andrews 58, Hansen 33, Tallon 33) when play ceased owing to poor light. Adelaide, Dec. 22. In the match between South Australia and New South Wales, the former won by an innings and five runs. In reply to South Australia’s first innings total of 575, New South Wales made 351. 'Ward took six wiokets for 127. New South Wales followed on and scored 219 in its second innings (Fallowfield 3,8, Marks 31, Lonergan 39, Robinson, 39, Easton 42). Australia replied with 351 (Hendry 92, Morrisby 119, Ryder 44). Laghate took three for 44 and Mohrill four for 86. At stumps, Central Provinces had lost two wickets for 11 in its second innings.'
