TRAINING COLLEGES.

FOUR OPEN NEXT YEAR. (By Telegraph—rrps* Association.) DUNEDIN, Thursday. The Otago Education Board has been advised- by the Education Department that 800 new entrants will be admitted to the four training colleges next year. It is throught that the Otago quota will be increased from 51 to 74.

■ In addition to graduates and those with a qualifying pass in the training college entrance examination, applications will be received from holders of a higher leaving. certificate or of a credit pass in the university entrance scholarship examination. It is likely that there will be no dearth of applicants now that the door is open to holders of higher leaving certificates. The increasing of the bursary to £7O per annum and the restoration of the lodging allowance of £3O per annum will also bo additional attractions.

1 ENTRANCE EXAMINATION.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES.
