ADDINGTON MARKETS. demand for lambs. The entry of fat stock was exceptionallv large at Addington this week. Store Sheep.—Mostly adult wethers were entered, and these were cheaper by Is to Is Gd a head. The few ewes and lambs forward showed a similai easing. Fat Lambs. —A total of 3300 were penned and there was a keen sale. Exporters bought up to the limit of the schedule for lighter sorts, and 'butchers paid more for the heavier lambs. Best lambs made from 25s to 30s, medium 22s to 24s 6d, unfinished 19s to 21s.
Fat Sheep.—An entry of 6200 was yarded and a firm demand throughout from butchers existed, exporters being unable to secure any sheep at schedule rates. Best wethers sold from 23s to 28s 6d, ordinary 20s to 22s 9d, extra prime ewes to 23s 4d, prime 19s tb 225, ordinary 14s 6d to 18s 6d. Fat Cattle. —A total of 720 head were penned, with an easing of 10s to las a head, except for a few pens of specially good cattle. Best beef made 27s to 29s 6d per 1001 b, extra prime heavy steers to £l3 17s 6d, prime heavy £9 10s to £ll 15s, prime medium" £8 5s to £9 las, ordinary £B, extra prime heifers to £l2 7s 6d, prime £7 to £9, ordinary £5 5s to £6 15s, extra prime cows to £lO, prime £6 5s to £8 10s, ordinary £4 10s to £6. Fat Pigs.—A heavy entry. There was an improvement in porkers, but baconers were slightly easier, Baeoners made 47s 6d to £3 6s 6d, average per lb 4*d to sd. Porkers made 30s to £2 4s 6d; average per lb s*d to 6d, PUTARURU PIQ BALE. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held a pig sale at Putaruru on Thursday, when a good entry, comprising mostly baconers, came forward, practically all being sold at up to Franklon rales. We quote: Best baconers, £2 to £2 15s; medium baconers, £2 7s to £2 10s; light ditto, £2 2s to £2 6s: heavy porkers, 37s to £2 Is; medium porkers, 33s to 365: light and unfinished, 29s to 325; good stores, £1 10s 6d; other stores, 26s to 29s 6d; slips, 17s to 255; best weaners, 225; good weaners, 15s to 18s; small weaners, Ila to 14s 6d. ngongotaHa stock sale. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, report having 1)eld their fortnightly sale at Ngongolaha yesterday, when a small yarding of cattle was penned, competition being good. A fair yarding of fat and store pigs sold readily at late quotations. We quote.—Cattle: Killable cows, £4 to £4 7s; heavy boners, £'2 16s to £3 ss; light, 29s to £2; potter bulls, £3 7s 6d to £4 10s. Dairies: Jersey and Jersey cross heifers, running with bull, £3 to £3 10s; good Jersey cows in milk, £3 7s Gd to £’4 10s: others, £2 15s to £3. Pigs: Heavy baconers, £2 12s to £3 13s; medium, £2 9s to £2 Its; light, £2 6s to £2 8s; heavy porkers, £2 to £2 4s; medium, 37s to' 395; light, 35s to 365; good slips, 19s to 20s: Avcaners, 10s Gd to 13s.

Mix dry Ingredients, add fruit, treacle, eggs, milk, “ Cathedral Brand” essence and brandy. Divide In two; boll 8 hours. (1)
