DUKE OF GLOUCESTER CUP. t PRESENTATION AT MARTON. WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Arrangements had been made for the -Governor-General. Viscount Galway, to present the Duke of Gloucester Cup to the winner of the gentlemen j riders’ race at Marton on January 2 but, owing to the recent death of the King's sister, Princess Victoria, the day conies within the prescribed six weeks’ Court mourning, and the Gov- , ernor-General will not participate in any public ceremony within the period. The cup, donated by His Royal Highness, will now he presented by Mr J. S. McLeod, president of the New Zealand Racing Conference.
