Indications are for partly fair weather to-day; with 'higher temperatures; brisk winds from a northerly direction; conditions becoming unsettled after 24 hours. The Rainfall. Rainfall for 24 hours ended 9 O’clock this morning, .OOin. Rainfall for previous 24 hours, .OOin. Total rainfall for December to date, .OOin. •Average rainfall for December, 3.38 in. Rainfall for year to date, 49.79 in. Yearly average. 46.321 n. SOUTH AUCKLAND AREA. ( By Govt. Meteorologist.) The special forecast by the Government Meteorologist covering the WalkatoThames Valley is as follows: Forecast: Moderate to fresh northerly winds; later becoming variable. Weather mainly fair to cloudy and warm, but showers or misty rain likely in scattered places. Seas moderate. General Inference: A slight depression is moving slowly across the Dominion and a tropical cyclone is centred south-west of Fiji.
