Issue Department: Notes in circulation £397,014,342, in the banking department £57,309,559, total £454,323,901: Government debt £11,015,100, other Government securities .£246,324,-437, other securities £1,120,097, silver .coin £1,540,366 (these four constituting a fiduciary Issue of £260,000,000), gold coin and bullion £194,323,901; total £454,323,901. Banking Department: Proprietors’ capital £14,553,000, rest £3,138,168, public deposits £35,324,700, other deposits, bankers £78,705,751, other accounts £37,084,428, total £168,806,047; Government securities £86,774,999; other securities, discount advances £11,385,751, securities £12,479,002, notes £57,309,559, gold and silver coin £856,736, total £16,880,047.
Proportion of reserve to liabilities, 38.40 per cent; short loans, 3-4 per cent; three month bills, 5-8 per cent.
