john McArthur charged. NEW ZEALAND DOCUMENT. SYDNEY, October 4. John William Shaw McArthur, aged 52, who was managing director of the Investment Executive Trust of New Zealand, Limited, and of the Southern British, National Trust, Limited, of New South Wales, appeared in the Central Court to-day on a provisional warrant alleging the issue of a false prospectus In New Zealand.

When the police asked for an adjournment, McArthur’s solicitor, Dr. F. Louat, said It was a political "stunt” on the part of the Government of New Zealand. There was nothing new in the prospectus, which was two and a-half years old. The whole affairs of the company, Dr. Louat explained, were investigated 14 months ago by five Governments. There was a complete answer to the allegation, and every xvord In the prospectus was literally true. McArthur was remanded until October 18, on ball of £250.
