WAIHI HOSPITAL.

MATRON APPOINTED. (Dy Telegraph,—Press Association). WAIHI, Wednesday. Approval of the appointment of Nurso Elizabeth Paora, of Christchurch, as matron of tbc Wailil Hospital, lias been given by the Department of Health. The hospital board, at a special meeting held on Tuesday evening, requested the department to sanction the appointment. The secretary reported that in response to an advertisement for live staff nurses only one application had been received, that from .Miss ii. Chatterton, of Stratford. He slated that there was a marked difficulty at the present time all over New Zealand in procuring nurses. The board decided to appoint Miss Chattorton.
