JERSEY BULLS
TE AWAMUTU FAIR. CURRENT RATES REALISED. ANNUAL CLUB FIXTURE. With values more than favourably comparing with those realised at similar fixtures during the last fortnight, the annual bull fair of the Te Awamutu Jersey Club was held at the Te Awamutu saleyards yesterday before a large bench of buyers. The entries came forward in excellent condition and realised values ranging up to 20igns. The auctioneers in conjunction were Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd., The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd., and the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd. Mr S. A. Ammon, of Halrini, was the final bidder at 20gns on The Oaks Baron, a two-year-old by Ivondale Golden Lad from Golden ■' Owl and offered on account of Mr F. J. B. Ryburn, of Paterangi. For another two-year-old, Fern Glade -Hero, sired by Fern Glade Ringmaster and from Hero’s Ruby, Mr A. J. McGovern, of Te Awamutu, paid 19gns. The vendor was Mr Wm. Struthers, of Te Mawhal.
H. O- Campanile Boy, a two-year-old by H. O. Soumise Lad from H. O. Soumlse, was sold to Mr W. I. Macky, o'f Paterangi, on account of Mr J. G. Holmes, of Te Awamutu, for 18gns. A guinea below this figure was the purchase price of Mr Wm. Struthers’ Fareham’s Nugget, an attractive son of Homestall Grand March and Tiny Briar, the buyer being Mr J. Turnwald, of Te Awamutu. A yearling by Walpiko Love Boy from Pander, Rang! Butter Boy, commanded competition up to l'SJgns when it was sold to Mr A. W. Gallagher, of Ngahape, for 15}gns. Few of the 112 bulls catalogued were passed, other entries ranging in price to l'Sgns. ,
