TROUSSEAU ADVICE

Now a word about the trousseau. Your frocks are always a matter for individual taste, but remember that it is a mistake to get too many of them, warns the Cape Times. You always see something later that you would like and it is a nuisance not to have an excuse to buy it. “Undies” are a different, matter. It is not necessary to have dozens of everything as in the olden days, but you must have a good supply. The idea of having things in sets is an exploded one, but it is useful to have panties and petticoats to match. The new nightdresses show a definite return to the old schoolgirl design, made of satin,- but with long sleeves and' 'high necks, demure certainly but not so becoming as the more decorative lace and satin affairs. Demure also ore those with the smocked yokes and tiny puffed sleeves, and they have an appeal of

their own. If these arc carried out in lloral chiffon, however, they are not quite so demure. ' White for lingerie is very fashionable at the, moment, trimmed with white lace, instead of the ecru lace that has had such a vogue, but pink, on the whole Is more becoming. Most undies to-day are cut on the cross, which ensures a perfect Cl. No trousseau is complete without at least a couple of dressing gowns, one as elaborate as you please, and one plain and useful. And don’t forget a couple of dainty little bedjackets. 1
