KEEN INQUIRY FOR HORSES

SPECIAL CAMBRIDGE FIXTURE.

HIGH LEVEL OF VALUES.

(Times Special Reporter.) CAMBRIDGE, Friday. There is no apparent slackening of interest at the Cambridge spring horse fair. The high level of values set on the opening two days of the sale still persists and there is no indication ab present that values will show any decline towards the end of the sale. Enthusiastic competition was again evinced yesterday and highly satisfactory values were returned. The sale Is being conducted by the Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited. Tlie top price of the day was paid for a brown mare offered on account of Mr F. Gibson which was sold to Messrs Cumpston Bros, for £56. The Harding Estate sold bay geldings at £SO 10s and £l9 10s while Mr G. Johnson, of Matangi, sold two heavy draught geldings at an average of £4B 10s. Mr R. Trouton, of Matamata, sold an outstanding brown gelding for £53 ( while Mr Erie Johnston, of Matamata, marketed three at an average of £33. For a roan gelding Mr N. K. Taylor, of Gordonlon, obtained £54 and received £3 10s below this figure for another consignment. Messrs Fisher Bros, were Uic final bidders at £SO oa a bay gelding. • i Values ranging from £4O to £&0 were not uncommon during the sale.
