THE COMMONWEALTH RANK. BIG FALL IN DEPOSITS. United Press Assn. —Elec. Tel. Copyright. (Received Sept. 6, 10.35 a.m.) SYDNEY, Sept. 6. The Commonwealth Bank made a profit for the half-year of £623,807, compared with £705,431 during the corresponding period last year. The profit in the general hanking department was £201,872, and the profit in the note issue department £388,669. In the general banking department the deposits show a fall of £7,391,448 for the half-year and £16,048,001 on the year’s comparison.
The Savings Bank. Deposits in the Commonwealth Savings Bank on June 30 totalled £129,132,930, showing an Increase or £l,B-11,922 compared with December 31.* -
