WIND-UP BALL.

COMBINED RUGBY CLUB. The attendance at the Rugby windup ball, organised by the social 'committee of the Eastern Combined Rugby Football Club'and held in the Waitoa Hall on Monday evening, far exceeded the highest expectations, visitors being preseul from Hamilton, Te Aroha, Morrinsville and all the surrounding distriots. The hall had been attractively decorated with black and white streamers, and the stage was arranged with a canopy of red, white and blue streamers. Excellent music was played by the Midnight Revellers’ Orchestra, of Te Aroha, Monte Carlo waltzes were won by Miss L. Middleton and Mr L. Rasmussen, and Miss E. Box and Mr J. Hewitt, and a confetti dance added to the enjoyment of the evening. A competition was won by Mr Jack Burge.

During supper the president of the club, Mr W. Howard, presented the Hodge Cup to the third grade team who won the Morrinsville Rugby Union’s competitions for 1935. The cup was received by tho captain, Mr Keith Shirley, on behalf of the team. Mr Howard also presented a framed photograph of the team to the manaj ger of the team, Mr Allan Rlomileld. Mr Clias. E.
