WEDDINGS

McLaren—jackways.

The marriage was solemnised quietly at Christ Church Anglican Church, Taupiri, on Saturday, between Amy Maude, second daughter of Air and Mrs W. Jackways, of Kainui, Taupiri, and George Clyde, third son of Mrs and the late Air N. McLaren, of Christchurch, the officiating minister being the Reverend E. R. Wright, of Huntly. Tiie wedding music was played by Mrs Tatton, of Auckland, a family friend of many years. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a slim-fltting frock of midnight blue deluslred marocain with matching spring hat and carried a beautiful sheaf of pale pink anemones, freezias and fern.

Miss Gladys Heerdegen, of Koroniatua, Hamilton, was the bridesmaid, and wore a frock of mushroom pink ripple crepe trimmed with pleating on sleeves and hem, with hat to tone, and carried a bouquet of mauve shaded freezias, violets and maidenhair fern. Mr Vincent Foxon, of Invercargill, was best man.

After the ceremony relatives and intimate friends were entertained by the bride’s parents at their home. They were received by Airs Jackways wearing a smart wine mateline frock with scarf collar of cream georgette and wine felt hat. She carried a bouquet of toning anemones, linaria and asparagus fern. The guests were-received in the drawing room where the tables were attractively decorated with bowls of narcissi and violets. In the evening a jolly parly was greatly enjoyed by all. Mr and Mrs McLaren will make- their home in Hamilton.
