Haydn Taylor, a London dentist, who swam (lie English Channel from Cape' Grisnez to Dover in li hours 50 minutes, is the first to swim the channel this year. Another aspirant who started at the same time as he gave up after three hours. Following is a list of successful Channel swimmers in order of lime occupied:—
