NEW ZEALAND BUTTER. LONDON MARKET STEADY. CHEESE ALSO IN DEMAND. AUCKLAND, Thursday. The London butter market is steady, with the price of choicest salted New Zealand unchanged at 94s per cwt. Cheese also is steady, white being quoted at 48s 6d to 495, and coloured at 47s 6d to 48s. The New Zealand and Mercantile Agency Company Limited, Hamilton have received the following cablegram from their London house under date 21st. instant:— Butter: New Zealand choicest salted, 94s per cwt. (last week, 94s to 94s 6d). Market quiet.
Cheese: White, 49s per cwt. (last y_ week, 48s Gd to 495); coloured, 47s 6d per cwt. (last week 47s 6d to 485) 9 Market firm.
