Professor Frederick Soddy, the inventor of many chemical processes and mechanical appliances, said in an interview with the News Chronicle that the Government’s suggestions for aerial defence were childish. He. expressed amazement at the exclusion of scientists from the key positions. . The British Labour Party has decided to support, the Government’s anti-air-raid protective service. The national executive, in a statement, says that having considered the implications of the problems presented, it agrees that it is the duty of Labour members to fulfil their responsibilities to the communities within their charge.
