The account was passed for payment, The Works Committee's report showed that a rather serious breakdown ol the council's truck had necessitated the replacing of the crown wheel. The committee recommended that the council gram permission to the county trallle Inspector to use portions of the borough streets lor testing or motor vehicles, provided there was no cost to the found! anil the streets were approved by the committee. The cnmmitiee was also asked lo report on the host method of dealing with the borough's rubbish dump. Cr. Italney. on behalf of the beautifying Society. asked lor permission to plant trees on both sides or Tawhaiao Street and one side of Arawata Street, it was left to Crs. Montellore and Italney with power to act.
