THAMES VALLEY BOARD MEETS. RAISING OF LOANS. Mr J. Price presided at the Augusj meeting of the Thames valley Power' Board' yesterday, Messrs F. E. Flatt, C. A. Arthur, J. W. Anderson, W? C.. Kennedy, H. Mayor, J. Pohlen, J. M, Allen, Colin Mason and H. M. Corbett also being present. A letter was received Trom the Treasury, relative to the proposed loan or £20,000 and stating that section 20 or the Finance Act, 1032 (No. 2) Is wide enough to authorise the raising of a loan on the instalment system without the necessity of involving Section 32 of the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1026. The Auckland Savings Bank wrote stating It was prepared to accept the Board’s application lor the loan of £20,000 on the Instalment system at 3i per cent, for a term or 20 yea#s. A resolution was passed authorising the raising of the loan. Stock Electrocuted. The Eagle, Star or British Dominions, Insurance Company notified In respect to the claim or Mr L. J. McNair, of Tlrau, for cows electrocuted that as he had not carried out his obligations to cut back trees, the claim could not he recognised. A claim was received from the Auckland Furniture Removal Specialists for furniture damaged by a truck coming In contact with one or the hoard’s stay wires at Turua. Tho demand for new installations Is being steadily maintained and the continued application for supply has necessitated preference being given to the Installation or farm motors and water-heaters on account of the proximity of tho dairying season. Mr Corbett was of tho opinion that when the matter of hulk supply rates was being reviewed, the question ol terminating the agreements between Thames and To Aroha in one or two years, should he considered.
