AUCKLAND PRODUCE. , .Fowl Wheat.—-The market is steady at around os id a bushel, through store. The Wheat Purchase Board has decided to continue selling at the prices established at the beginning oi last month. Maize. —Arrivals 'have been a little heavier than usual. ‘ The through store value is around 4s 3d a bushel lor new season’s. . , .. . ...

Barley.—Australian clipped is -commanding a -steady inquiry at about 4s 4d a bushel through store. Oats and Chaff. —Feed - oats are very firm. Through store, A Cartons are worth about 5s a bushel and B Gartens 4s 8d- Algerian feed oats are available at around 4s 4d a bushel. Chaff is steady at £7 15s a ton, through store. Bran and Pollard. —Through store, Australian pollard is worth about £7 5s a ton. There .is a better inquiry for bran, which is unchanged at £6 5s a ton on the same basis.

-Potatoes. —Only about 0500 sacks cf potatoes arrived by the Waimarino and the market is very firm. Through store, whites are worth £lO 10s a ton and lied Dakotas £lO 15s. Onions. —Spot stocks arc short, but the position was eased slightly by the arrival of about 300 crates of Japanese by the Kiwitea. These are selling at up. to 18s per cwt. store. A shipmenGof California will arrive on Friday, while further supplies of Japanese at 17s Gd per cwt.

HIDES, SHEEPSKINS ANb TALLOW.

There were very large offerings at. the fortnightly sale of hides and sheep-" skins held by Auckland brokers yesterday. All sections of the buying trade operated freely, but ’in some lines limits were reduced, and prices dropped slightly. Tallow was easier, due to the smaller export demand, and the’ top price was 2s Gd lower at 22s per cwt. ' .

Hides. —Ox (abattoirs),. heavy, G3d per lb.; medium, 53d; light, 43d .to sd; country butchers, heavy, 43d to 53d; medium, 43cl to 4 5-Bd, light, 4d to cow (abattoirs), 4 5-8 d; cow (country butchers), 4d to 4 i-8d; farmers, all weights, 23d to 33d; yearlings (abattoirs), heavy, 43d to sd; light and medium, 03d to 73d; second grade, 4d to sd; cut and faulty, 2Jd to 33d. Calfskins, 31b. to 51b., 73 d; Gib., to. 81b., 83d to- SJd’; se.conds, and cut, 5Jd to G3d; slippy, 2d to 43d.Dry Sheepskins.—Three-quarter to full-wool, medium lo fine crossbred, 7d to 73d; coarse crossbred, 53d to 53d; damaged and faul{y, 33d to 43d; half-wools, medium to line crossbred, G3d to 7d; coarse .crossbred, 5d to 53d; damaged and faulty, 3d to 4d; bare to quarter-wools, sound, 33d to 43d; damaged and faulty, 23d to # 3d. Salted Sheepskins.—Quarter-wools, sound, 2s 3d to 3s Id each; faulty, Is Gd to 2s 3d; three-quarter lo fullwool, large, 4s 8d to 5s 2d; light to medium, 3s to 3s iOd; faulty, 2s Gd to 3s sd.

Tallow.—Good quality, 2is to 22s per cwt.; second grade, 20s to 2Qs Gd; third grade and inferior, 17s 6d to 10s.
