TROTTING.

LIST OF FIXTURES. August 10, 14, 16. —New Zealand Metropolitan T.C. August 31, September 7—Auckland T.C. August 31.—Charity trotting meeting at Addington.

METROPOLITAN CARNIVAL.

KING’S WARRIOR’S CREDENTIALS.

WAIKATO CLUB COMMITTEE.

(By “Padlock.”)

The New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club’s carnival will open at Addington on Saturday. Large fields are engaged for opening day and indications are for a highly successful meeting.

On the Easy List. 'Bingen Chief is still on the easy list and it is definitely stated that he will not be a'ycoiiipetitdr at the approaching Auckland- meeting.

Thrives on Work. Silver Watch thrives on work and the tasks he has been allotted lately have worked considerable improvement in his condition. He . should strip well for engagements ahead.

In Nioe Order. Wee Machine is reported to be. in nioe order to enter on a serious preparation.- Since racing at 'the winter meeting he has been kept steadily in light work and should not take long to strike his true form. A Good One. King’s Warrior, trained by Smith at Takanini, is a pacer well worthy of special interest in the season, ahead. In the closing stages of last season he demonstrated that he is one of our most improving horses and it will come as a surprise if he fails to add /considerably to his laurels in the present term.

In Work Again. Autumn Lui is'back in work again at Epsom and appears to have benefited by her let up. G. 'II. Stubb : s' charge lias shown ample promise both on 'the tracks and in her races, but her bad tangling habits have so far been against her. She may do better in the present season. Lucky Love. Lucky Love is making good progress in his preparation and will probably be reserved for the saddle event at the forthcoming Auckland meeting. Lucky Love is'possessed of a useful turn of speed up to a mile and he will have..an excellent opportunity 'at the end of the present month of re-enter-ing the winning lists.

Looks Well. Niinbus is reported to ,be bearing a particularly healthy appearance and is getting through his tasks at Epsom in fine style. All going well with the Wrack gelding he will be given a start <at the Auckland meeting.at the end of the month and in the event of a firm track prevailing he should take a lot of beating.

Worthy Nor has been doing everything required of her in her recent essays on the tracks and she should lack nothing on the score of condition when next she is produced in public. The' convincing success of the Worthy Bond mare at the last Auckland Winter meeting was indicative of better things and she should not fail to pay her way in the season ahead.

Committeeman Resigns. A member of the committee of the Waikato Trotting Club practically from its inception and clerk of the course at Claudelands for many years, Mr A. B. Oassidy, has tended his resignation from the committee of the club on account of advancing years. At a recent meeting of the Waikato Trotting committee feeling reference was made by the chairman, Mr T. G. Reynolds to the valued and lengthy service rendered to trotting in the town by Mr Oassidy, whose resignation was received with regret.

Taking Things Easily. Auto Machine is taking things easily on the tracks at present but the light •tasks allotted him have been distinctly beneficial and lie is in good order for. engagements ahead. Auto Machine showed promise at the last Auckland gathering, finishing right on tlie heels of (lie placed division in Ihe C. F. Mark Memorial Handicap, and any improvement on that running would suggest excellent prospects for Ihe Auckland representative in his races in the i 935-30 season,\•

Nominations for Committee. Of the five retiring members of the committee of the Waikato Trotting •Club, Messrs 11. W. Burch, J. FraserSmith, S. J. Ra’wlinson, A. B. Cassidy and C. V. :Carley, the last named is: the only member seeking re-election for (lie 1935-30 season. For the six vacancies eight nominations have been received. They arc Messrs C. V. Harley, W. Perrin, R. A. Hinton, G. Jew, R. T. Reid, McL. T. Clephnnc, E. .T. Swann .and S. V. Tyler, q’lie .election will be held at the annual’general meeting nf llic club on Tuesday, August 27.
