RETURNED SOLDIERS.

TE AROHA ASSOCIATION. SUCCESSFUL “LADIES’ NIGHT." ■ The first “Ladles’ Nnig-tit” of the To Aroha Returned Soldiers’ Association was held at the Parish Mali on Thursday and was an unqualified success, the buildinglielng filled practically to capacity. The president, Mr O. 11. Nicholls, presided. A splendid song programme of popular items was sung by tlio assemblage with Mr Cornwall (Watht) as leader. The numbers included “ParlezA’ous,” “Way Down the Front Line,” “Another Little Drink,” “Pack lip Your Troubles,” “The Long Trail.” Quartettes were sung by Messrs Trebilco (2), Rayner and Qunlt rough, songs contributed by Messrs Cornwall, Fielder 11. Robertson and Canon 0. W. Turner; mouth organ duets by Messrs Woodhntn; Instrumental trio by •Messrs Billing and Tarlton (violin) and Dr. Martin (piano); dialogue by Messrs Mcholls and Lovie, and torch swinging exhibition by Air Moss. The president gave an Interesting address on the work of the association, the main feature being to help returned men suffering from disabilities and also to grant relief to those unable to find work In time of stress. Subsidies were received by the association, whose duty it was to see that the moneys were properly expended.
