Indications are for continued unsettled weather to-day, and probably tomorrow, fair at intervals; heavy showers; mild temperatures; northerly winds prevailing. The Rainfall. ' Rainfall for 24 hours ended 9 o’clock this morning, ,16in. Rainfall for previous 24 hours, .03in. Total for July to date, 4.59 in. Average rainfall for July, 4.83 in. , , Uainfall for year to date, 3111 Sin. yearly average. 4G.321n. SOUTH AUCKLAND AREA. (By Govt. Meteorologist.) The special forecast by the Government Meteorologist, covering the WaikatoThames Valley is as follows: Weather forecast: Fresh south-west winds; weather cold and changeable, with scattered showers; sea-s rough off shore, / General inference: An intense depression lies to thd east, and a slight one to the ! west of the 6outh island; while an anti-cyclone extends from Eastern Australia on -to the north Tasman Sea.
