The records of a Los Angeles tax collector revealed to-day some interesting facts concerning the wealth of prominent “ movie stars." They do not wholly indicate the possessions of these people hut reflect their economic position. John Barrymore’s property has an assessed valuation of 56,575 dollars, of which almost all is represented by his yacht infanta. A year ago the gross assessment against him was 96,440 dollars. Mae West’s assessment is only 4600 dollars, mostly jewellery. Charles Chaplin’s is 2,692,000 dollars, as against 3,051,000 last year, mostly in stocks and bonds. Others are:—Mary Piekford, 1,465,COO dollars, compared with 2,685,000 in 1934; Douglas Fairbanks, only 39.040, compared with 1.696,000 in 1034; ‘avoid Lloyd, 443,000; and Noma Shearer, .305,000,
