THE AUCKLAND MARKET. BUSINESS WELL MAINTAINED. (By Telegraph.—Special to Times.) AUCKLAND, Friday. 'Business on 'Change has been well maintained over the last 24 hours and there lias been a satisfactory turnover. At this morning’s call bank shares were steady, with firmness shown in Australian issues. Commercials were quoted between 17s Id and 17s 6d. New South Wales had 'bnyers at £32 15s, but no sellers. Goldsbro’ Morts were in better demand, but buyers’ offers of, 30s 6d brought no response from holders. Colonial Sugars had a sale at the new high level of £45, but at this point ■the rise was checked and buyers dropped ba'ek to £44 15s. The effect of Woolworth’s (N.Z.) 'capitalisation announcement was shown in sellers raising their reserves to £l4, but buyers kept their offers down to £l2. Tile Sydney ordinaries were firm between £4 18s Gd and £5 5s and ttie West Australian scrip from £7 5s to £8 Ds. Recorded Sales.
