0 ANNUAL BALL.

HAMILTON COMBINED BANKS. One of the most brilliant and successful functions of the season, the annual ball of the staffs of the Hamilton Combined Banks held last evening in the Regent Ballroom attracted an extremely large attendance. Tlie ballroom had been beautifully arranged with balloons and trails of lycopodium and red roses festooned above the dancers, and twined round the pillars, and the supper tables looked delightful with scarlet anemenes, Iceland poppies, spring bulbs, camellias and berries. Excellent music was played by Dave Shaw’s orchestra and during the evening a delicious supper was served. Later in the evening favours were distributed. The hostesses were: — j Mrs D. Robertson, wearing deep green lace. Mrs A. E. Sandford, wine souple satin and silver lame, and black ring velvet coatee. Mrs A. G. St. Paul, reseda green Airs E. C. Sare, Marina blue crepe do chine and ermine coatee. Mrs E. P. X. Trevena, black crepe suede with sequinned trimmings and saxe blue coatee. meeting and a most enjoyable afternoon was spent. Mrs W. Hollis presided until the business pprtion was completed, after which Mrs R. Gross took the chair. Community singing was led by Mrs B. Robinson, assisted by Mrs W. Bracewell. Solos by Mrs J. Menzies and Mrs B. Grimshaw were much appreciated and elocution was given by Mrs G. Conder, and a pianoforte solo by Mrs Bracewell. A flower wedding competition was won by Mrs T. De Renzy. Mrs De Renzy was appointed as delegate to the Auckland Conference, which will also be attended by several members. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames L. Cook, P. Cannell and J- Calder and Miss D. White.
