DANCE AT TE KAWA.

SUCCESSFUL EVENING SPENT. A successful plain and fancy dres9 dance, organised to raise funds for the Town Hall supper room, was held at Te Kawa on Tuesday evening when, despite unfavourable weather, there was a fair attendance. Some interesting and amusing costumes were worn, the winner of the ladies’ prize being Mrs G. A. Scholes, who wore a striking Maori costume, every detail being genuine Alaori craftsmanship. The men’s prize was won by Air Neil AlcLean, as a golliwog. A substantial sum was raised by competitions, won by Mrs AI. 'Coverdale and Air I. Pivac. The Marimba Band played excellent music and Air C. S. Alexted was AI.C. ■Air J. AVallis, president of the Sports Club, spoke briefly and thanked the ladies’ committee for their efforts in making the evening a success.
