WOMAN WOUNDED
HUSBAND UNDER ARREST. PALMERSTON N., Wednesday. A young married woman, Elsie Elizabeth Symes, was sent to hospital in a serious condition as the result of a wound caused by a pea-riile bullet, while her husband, Manley Symes, aged 22, was taken into custody on a charge of assault causing bodily harm. Both were on holiday at a farm near Palmerston North, and came from Pallia tua. HUSBAND CHARGED. « WIFE'S CONDITION SERIOUS. PALMERSTON N., Thursday. In connection with the Wliakarongo affair, Manley Symes (22) was charged in the Magistrate's Court to-day wi,.h •assaulting Elsie Elizabeth Syrneo so as to cause actual bodily harm. The accused was remanded till August 1. ‘fhe condition of Mrs Symes is serious but satisfactory.
