HAMILTON CLUB’S YEAR.

ELECTION OF OFFICERS. '

TROPHIES PRESENTED

The efforts taken during the year to Increase membership were reviewed by the president, Mr R. B. Parsons, at the annual meeting of the Hamilton Motor Cycle Club last evening. There was an attendance of over 30 members. In a report of the year’s activities, Mr Parsons said that a membership drive had gained a few light car owners as associate members, but the roll of the club remained at 40, the same figure as the previous year. He referred to the -success -of the meeting conducted under the auspices of the South Auckland Motor and Air Carnival at Rukuhia, which had seen the inauguration of the Zealand quarter-mile grass track championship which was won by A. Mattson. A club picnic and a wrestling tournament with the Auckland Motor Cycle Club were two new but very successful features of the year’s programme. Mr Parsons -concluded by paying a warm tribute to the assistance that had been lent the club by Mr and Mrs L. N.'Sargent and "Miss Sargent, and also referred to the work of the other officials, making particular mention of the".club captain, Mr A. McLaren. : -

The balance-sheet which revealed a loss of £2 on the year’s operations was'adopted and the following officers were elected: —Patron, Mr J. A. •Steele; president, Mr R. B. Parsons; vice-president, Mr S. Connolly: secretary and treasurer, Mr H. Kennedy; assistant-secretary,. Mr J. Kennedy; club captain, *Mr A. McLaren; vloe-' captain, Mr D. -Connolly; hon. auditor, Mr E. y. Riesterer; lion, solicitor, Mr Wf J. King; hon. surgeons, Drs.’ E. C. Brewis and F. D. Pinfold: committee, Miss M. Traill and Messrs R. Pickard, P. ;Pollen, D., McLaren, L. N. Sargent, : G. Rose and J. Morris.

The, following trophies were presented by Mr Parsons, who congratulated the recipients upon their success and' the ability they had shown in gaining the awards: —Ilalf-day race, A. McLaren 1, R. B. Parsons 2. South Auckland Motor and Air Carnival Association’s hurdle event: J. Kennedy and D. McLaren, tied; Chrysler Cup, D. Connelly and J. Glennie joint holders and 11. Crook, second’medal. Hamilton Motor Cycle Club miniature T.T», D. McLaren} Points Shield, D.’ McLaren.
