NEW ZEALAND BUTTER.

HIGHEST PRICE SINCE FEBRUARY

CHEESE SHOWS - IMPROVEMENT,

AUCKLAND, Thursday.

Advices from " London show that there has been a further rise of is per cwt. in prices for butter and New Zealand finest is now quoted up to 92s per cwt. The market is firm. This is the highest point reached since February, when 94s was touched. At that time the United States was buying in the London market. A year ■ago butter was selling at about 75s per cwt. and at the same time in 1933 at about 82s.

Offers for forward business were again available yesterday. It is reported that there were a few sales unchanged .on the basis for finest of 10 7-8 d pCr lb., f.0.b., equal to 93$ per -cwt., London. Few supplies are ■available.

Prices for . cheese are about Gd'.per cwt. higher, and the market also shows some improvement in tone.

BOTH MARKETS ACTIVE. . LATEST LONDON QUOTES. (By Telegrrapn.—Special to Times.) AUCKLAND, Thursday. Messrs Lionel McCartney 'and Co. have received • a cable dated July 24 from London from their principals, Messrs Henry A. Lane and Go. regarding New Zealand dairy produce prices. ‘‘Butter, 925; white cheese 44s 6d; ■coloured, 445. Both markets are active.”

Messrs- Joseph Nathan and Company’s report is similar.

The New Zealand Producers’ Co-op-erative Marketing Association, Limited, has ‘received the following cablegram from London: —Butter: New Zealand, 90s to 925; Danish, 102 s. ' The market is firm. Cheese: White, 43s 6d to 445; coloured, 43s to 43s 6d. The market is steady.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., Hamilton, havo received the following cablegram from their London house, under date of.the 24th instant:—

Butter. New Zealand choicest, salted, 91s to 92s per cwt; (last week 89s). Cheese.—43s 6d to 44s 6d per cwt. (last week, white 44s Gd, coloured 445). Markets firm.'
