YOUR HUSBAND’S CLOTHES
A soiled coat, crcascless, baggy trousers, down-at-heel shoes all U’B llieir story (says an English writer). That big husband of yours may be 'careless, certainly, but it is his little wife who will gel the blame —or credit for ill's personal appearance. “Poor Mr Brown,” people soy. “What a pily his wife lets him look so shabby. Can't she see how it goes against him in business.” Everyhnan should look well-groom-ed and well-dressed. He needs smart clothes to inspire confidence —in himself and in others. Don't expend all your energy on spring-cleaning your house's “clothes” and neglect your husband’s. Husbands, like houses, reflect on their owner's characters. Many people who come Into contact with your husband in the business world will never meet you, nor see your home. But they will judge you and it by bis personal*appearance. Just a little care and forethought will make all the difference to “how be looks.” It is up to bis wife to be his valet. Every week go through his wardrobe. ' A suit may require cleaning and pressing, or slices heeling. Ties, perhaps, want ironing, socks mending, worn collars weeded out and replaced with new. And do remember that so many men appear colour blind. See that his doilies harmonise. Don't let him buy a fawn hat if he has grey suits, or plum-coloured socks if his slices arc brown. Get him lo pay , attention to little things, such as well-polished shoes, frequent, hair-cuts and manicured nails. So many men err in these small but ail-important details. Yes, appearances, do count. People will notice the difference,- and though you may not gel the direct credit, for his success, you will he able to pat yourself on Die back when he brings off that “better .job.”
