CHURCH MEETING.

ST. ANDREW’S, TE AWAMUTU. FAREWELL TO REV. JANSEN. There was a (food attendance at the annual meeting, or the congregation or St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Te Awamutu, on Monday evening, when, in the absence or, Hie ltcv. A. G. Wliitclaw, the Rev. E. G. Jansen presided. The session report showed a membership roll or about 105. Reference was made to the loss sustained by the deaths of Mrs G. Stm and Mr Montgomery. The average attendance at the quarterly Communion services was 121, while ..an average of 10 attended the three country Communion services. The work of the Church had progressed and the various departments had co-operated .splendidly. Tho report continued: “ Our minister obtained leave of absence and left in January for a trip to the Homeland. Ho expects to be back iir Te Awamutu early hi, December. We wore fortunate in securing the services of the Rev. E'. G. Jansen Tor the rest of the year.”

The annual report of the Hoard of Managers showed that steady progress had been nitide amt interest maintained. Mr A. U. Weathered resigned on leaving the, district and lie was much missed. F. Smith. Other Activities. , The statement or accounts showed a satisfactory position, receipts including ordfiTiiTir ’collections £l2O and envelope collections £223, at Te Awamutu, and £42 at out-stations. Assembly missionary budget contributions totalled £7O 15s. Tlie annual report rrom the Sundayschool showed a roll of 82. and a very satisfactory year's work. The Bible class report showed a total membership of 125, with an average attendance of 04. Missionary contributions amounted to £24. The classes' studies were from the Union syllabus. The, I'AV.M.U. reported a good year’s activities and contributions totalling £47. All reports were adopted and the various organ lihtions congratulated upon their continued good work. At tlie close or the meeting expressions nr appreciation or .Mr Jansen's services were made and Mr O. S.’ West, on beliair or the congregation presented him with a substantial purse. Mr Jansen made an appropriate reply, stressing the pleasure lie had experienced in ministering to the Te Awamutu congregation. It was indicated that Mr Jansen purposes leaving Te Awaiiiiitn next week and that Rev. W. Rutterworth (fonnerlv in charge or To Awaiii 11 tu ) will carry on the work until tho return of the Rev. A. G. Whltelaw early in December. Mr Jansen expects to leave Tscw /.calami on September 7 by the Mouowal, for Sydney, to Join the Nellore cn route to Canton, where he will Join the China Inland Mlssioii.
