WRESTLING.
McCREADY DEFEATS WADE.
I’ji (By Telegraph.—press Association.)
DUNEDIN, Sunday.
Earl McCready, of Canada, 17st. and Glenn Wade, of America, 15st. lilb., staged a wrestling bout in -the Town Hall last night before a crowd estimated to exceed 3000. The match went the full eight rounds and the decision was awarded to McCready on points. McCready proved not only the stronger, but the cleverer wrestler. He was heavily punished in the Anal round, and It was only by hanging grimly to the ropes that he prevented a fall being registered against him. It really appeared as If McCready could have obtained a fall early if he had so desired. The bout was quite devoid fit showmanship.
