KLEOTION OF OFFICERS.

At the annual 'conference of the Women’s Division of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union on Friday Mrs C. K. Wilson (North King 'Country), Dominion vice-president and editress of the New Zealand Countrywoman, was elected unopposed to the presidency. The following Dominion vice-presi-dents wero elected: —-South Island: Mesdames .T. F. Drake (Otago), C. Mclntosh (North Canterbury), M. Ellen (South Canterbury). North Island: Mesdames J. C. Wickham (Wanganui), C. J. Harris (North Taranaki) and W. Lane (North Auckland).-

Mrs €. C. Jackson was elected bon. treasurer, and other officers were elected as follows: Advisory board for South Island, Mesdames A. Forsyth (Nelson), B. E. Evans (South Canterbury), W. Orr (Balfour); advisory board for North Island, Mesdames B. C. 'Clark (Waitema la), ,T. A. Harris (Turakina), A. 11. McLean (Wanganui); bush nurse and housekeeping auxiliary advisory members, Mrs L. TE PUNINQA BRANCH

The July meeting of the Te Puniuga branch of the Women’s Division was held in the Hall, Mrs Donald presiding over a good attendance. Several new members were enrolled.

The advisability of holding a children's fancy-dress ball in the near fullire was discussed and it was decided lo do so. A shortbread oompelition was tied for toy Mesdames Ennion and Wilson. Songs were given •by Mrs Boston. A competition was lied for by Mrs T. Paid and Miss R. Donald. The hostesses were Mesdames J. Spice, A. Spice and L. Boston.

TATUANUI BRANCH

A ’competition, “Something new from something old,” was won by Mrs G. Frampton, with Miss G. Rushlon second, and Mrs J. Burnett third; and a 'competition for the- best shortbread was won by Mrs C. Frampton, with .Mrs 0. Feck second and Mrs W. Northcolt third. The roll-call was "Sing, say, whistle or pay.” A very interesting demonstration was given by Mrs Faulkner, of Te Arolia.
