The Eastbourne tennis tournament was continued. England v. Australia, Doubles.—Quist and Turnbull (Australia) defeated Hughes and Tuckey (England), 3—6, 6—3, B—6, 6—4. Turnbull -was the best of tho four. He served and smashed with savage accuracy. The Australians were generaliy superior in volleying and smashing. Tuckey, England’s new Davis Cup recruit, is playing much better with experience. He is serving powerfully and his ground strokes have improved.
