SUMMER SHOW.
WAIKATO ASSOCIATION. SELECTION OF SECRETARY. MR W. RANSTEAD APPOINTED. At a meeting of the executive committee of the Waikato Agricultural and Pastoral Association to-day, Mr W. nanslead, of Matangi, was appointed secretary to the association to till the vacancy caused hy the death of Mr C. E. Goosman.
There were 50 applicants for the position from all parts of the North Island and the committee took several hours to make their final decision. Mr Ranslead. who is a member of a well-known Matangi farming family has shown cattle and horses at many shows for several years and is wellknown to all breeders. Ills connection with the New Zealand Co-opera-■flvo Pig Marketing Association has gained him a wider circle of friends and his knowledge of all classes of slock should be of great benefit to him in ills new position. Mr nanslead has had a long experience of secretarial duties with Ihe Maiangi Polo Club and for the past three years lias been secretary of the Auckland Provincial Polo Association. As chairman of Ihe .Matangi Glaxo Committee and a director of the; New Zealand Co-operative Herd Testing Association lie also has gained a wide experience of business management and organisation.
