THE HAMILTON CLUB. VISIT TO MORRINSVILLE. Members of the Hamilton Chess Club spent a very enjoyable time at Morrlnsvillc last night, when a match was played against the combined teams of the Morrlnsville and Te Aroha Clubs. Both sides were short of some of their strongest players, but in spite of this several good games were witnessed. The final score resulted In a win for Hamilton by ten games to six, the individual games being as follows, Hamilton players being mentioned first: — Mears lost lo Maddox (Te Aroha), Ilirst lost to R. Fenton (Morrinsville), Stevenson beat Burton (T.), Liddell beat J.-Hopkins (M.), Paterson beat Perrott (T.), Smith drew with K. Hopkins (M.), Shaw beat Groenslado (T.), Fink beat E. Fenton (M), ’fompkins beat Rowbottam (T.), Jones beat Gifford (M.), Barringer lost to Crompton (T.), Avery beat Mohn (M.), Dick lost lo Martin (T.), Standrin drew with Cole (M.), Robinson lost to Lash (T.), Gurney heal Simmons (T.).

At tiie conclusion of the games Mr J. Hopkins, the Morrinsville president, and Mr E. Fenton warmly thanked the visitors for (heir attendance, while Mr Crompton spoke on behalf of Te Aroha. in replying for Hamilton Mr Paterson expressed Mie hope Umt Morrinsville and Te Aroha would be strongly represented in the mutch they were endeavouring to arrange between Auckland and the combined teams of the Waikato Clubs, which it was hoped would take place at Hamilton somo i time late In July, . .
