VALEDICTORY.
MR AND MRS F. VERNER. A farewell social evening, organised by the Roman Catholic community and friends of Otorohanga and district, was tendered to Mr and Mrs Fredrick Verner, at 'the residence of Mr and Mrs Oliver Daiziel, Tc Kuiti Road, on Monday 'evening, when there was a very large attendance. Eulogistic speeches were made by Messrs 11. Rothery, 0. Daiziel, P. J. McNamara, J. C. Quinlan and A. Henderson, and a valuable travelling rug was presented to the guests ot tlie evening. Games, competitions, items and community singing were enjoyed, and a delicious supper was served. After many years’ residence in the Otorohanga district, Mr and Mrs "\erner and family will make.their home at Papakura.
