CARLSON GAINS PLACE. ALL BLACK TRIAL. CENTER FOR POSSIBLES. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON* Thursday. C. D. Oliver, of Canterbury, who was chosen as centre for the Possibles’ team in the All 'Black trial match at Wellington to-day, is unable to play owing to a heavy cold. He will be replaced by W. 11. Carlson of Waikato. Carlson, who was emergency for the trial at Palmerston North on Tuesday, came on and replaced Campbell at centre for the last ten minutes, but had no chance to prove his worth, lie usually plays five-eighths for Matamata and Waikato, but played on Ihe wing in an All Black trial some years ago.
