Undoslrablo Sideshows. —Somo discussion took place at the annual meeting of the Southern District Council or the ltoyal Agricultural Society of New Zealand yesterday on tho subject of undesirable sideshows, and the host means of excluding them from agricultural shows. Tho suggestion was mado that sideshows should bo licensed so that A. and P. societies ■would have a guide whether or not to give them space, but it was pointed out that it would he very simple to alter a sideshow after the license had been granted. It was suggested by Mr E. 11. Murncy that it would be better to prohibit certain classes of shows altogether in order to obviate that rislC and to prevent children under a certain age from appearing in sideshows. Finally, it, was decided that a remit in the following terms should be sent on to the parent body:—“That in view of tho undesirable nature of certain sideshows flic Royal Agricultural Society should he asked to go into the question of urging a stiffening of tlic existing legislation or of introducing adequate provision for censorship.' l
