I The good demand for fruit and vegetables experienced in recent weeks has been well maifttained on the Hamilton markets during the past week, hut there has been little variation in the ruling prices. The latest quotations are as follows; — Apples, Rome Beauty, 7s to 8s Gd; Ballarat, 6s 6d to 7s 6d; Stunner, orchard stored, 4s to 5s 6d; cool store, 7s 6d to 8s; stone Pippin, Gs to 7s; Delicious, 6s 6d to 7s '6d; Frimley Beauty, 7s to 7s 6d: Pioneer, 6s to 7s; 'Granny Smith, 8s to 8s 6d; Statesman, Gs 6d to 7s 6d; Dougherty, orchard stored 5s to Gs, ex cooler 6s ■Gd to 7s. Pears. Josephine, 5s to 6s; Winter Nelis and Cole, 12s to 13s Gd; cookers, 5s to Gs Gd; oranges, island, 19s Gd to 27s Gd, according to count; American,* 29s Gd to 335; 'tree tomatoes, black 5s to Gs, pink 4s to os; bananas, ripe and turning, 20s to 22s Gd; lemons, first grade; 10s to 12s 6d; others, Gs to 10s; hothouse tomatoes, first grade, 8d to lOd lb; seconds, '3d to sd. Values for Vegetables. Cauliflowers have declined slightly ■on account of larger supplies, but values for other lines of vegetables remain unaltered, prices being as follows:—Cabbages, 6s to 7s; cauliflowers, 7s 6d to 11s sack; kumaras, 3s to 4s 6d sugar bag; carrots, lOd to Is bundle, 2s Gd to 3s sugar bag; parsnips, Is to Is 2d bundle, 4s to 4s 6d sugar bag; beet, 5d to 7d bundle, 2s to 3s sugar bag; pumpkins, red, 3s to 4s sack; Whangaparoa 'Brown, 8s to 9s cwt; celery, lOd to Is 6d bundle; lettuce, 3s to 4s '6d case; potatoes, 9s to 10s cwt; onions, 7s to 'Bs sugar bag; cental bags, 15s ■6d to 16s 6d cwt. Produce and Cereals.

A sharp rise in the price of pollard, occasioned by a heavier demand in the face of short supplies, was the principal feature of the week as far asthe produce and cereal market is concerned. Pollard advanced from 7s Gd per 1001 bto 8s Gd. Bran remains at 7s Gd per i 001 b, wheat selling at 6s 3d per bushel, while maize Is steady at 5s and mixed grain at 4s 9d. Oats are selling at 4s 9d for A Gartons and 4s Gd for B Gartons, with 4 s 6d for barley. Eggs, Butter and Fish. There is a continued shortage of .eggs, hen eggs commanding 2s Gd per dozen, with 2s 4d for ducks’ and 2s 2d for pullets’. Butter is selling at is Id for first grade, Is for second grade, and lid for separator. Most lines of fish have been in fairly good supply in the past week.
