NOT EXCESSIVE.

DAIRY BOARD’S HONORARIA.

OPINION IN THE SOUTH. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, Friday. At a ward meeting held at Dunedin Under the auspices of the Dairy Board, several speakers referred to the question 'of the board’s honoraria, and emphatically stated that in their opinion the amount paid in the first instance of £3OO was In no way excessive in view of important activities the hoard was called upon to undertake and the greater area members had to represent. One speaker expressed the opinion that it would have been better if the Government had fixed the honoraria, in which case lie felt sure it would have been at least double that fixed by the board themselves, and more in keeping with the remuneration allocated by the Government in recent appointments to other boards.
