ROTOTUNA.

FAREWELL 80CIAL. The Rototuna Church Hall was filled with well wishers and friends, who assembled to bid farewell to Mr and Mrs Brtdson and family and Miss Bycroft on the eve or their departure from Rototuna, to take up their residence in Paterangl. The Rev. J. Dennis occupied the chair. Accompaniments were played by Misses 'Clements and Chapman. ' Miss Clements also contributed a pianoforte solo. A violin solo by the Rev. R. Seaton was appreciated as also was a vocal solo by Mrs Chapman. A dialogue entitled “The Sewing Guild" was delightfully Interpreted by iMlss Rene Clement, Miss Grace elements, Miss Margaret Underhill, Miss Ena Baldwin, Miss Dorothy Clements, Miss Grace Clement, Jean Fullerton. An amusing feature of the programme was the cleverly noted charade on the words “Brldson’e Farewell.” A dart throwing competition for ladles was won by Miss Margaret Underhill while In a similar competition Tor men the honour* were carried off by Mr Clement. The nail driving competition was won by Mr E. Carson. Speeches, regretting the departure or the guests or the evening and extending to them the best wishes for future happiness In their new sphere of life, were made by the Rev. J. Dennis on behalf of the Methodist Church, by the Rev, R. Seaton, representing the Presbyterian community, by Mr J. Thompson, representing Bible Classes arid Sunday School, and Mr Clement on behalf or the district. Mrs Carson of the Ladles’ Guild, presented Mr and Mrs Brldson with a brass Jardiniere and a pair or vases ai a token of appreciation from their friends In Rototuna.

The Rev. J. Dennis asked Miss Bycroft to accept a brass vase from the Church and Bible Class members and handed books as a token of remembrance to Messrs George, Bert and Ron. Brldson, while little Lorraine was made the recipient of the girt of a doll by Miss Jean Fullerton. Mr Brldson suitably replied.
