Because of continued inability to form a united front the Communists and Socialists held separate parades through the business section of the city.

The Communists carried Red banners denouncing war, Fascism, and other “manifestations of capitalism." Thousands of policemen guarded the line of march, but there was no disorder or violence, in fafet most of the demonstrators displayed a carnival spirit rather than a revolutionary one. '

Smaller demonstrations were held in the principal cl life's throughout the country, also in:Mexico City and mostof the capitals of South America. Thefe was little or ho violence.
