USE AND ABUSE OF CREDIT.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —I sincerely thank Mr G. A. Magner for Iris kindly offer of assistance regarding the monetary problem, arid with his permission will take the opportunity to discuss the matter with him, for there are two points on which we differ —a major and a minor one. I entirely agreed with ,him that the problem is a monotary ' one; therefore first things first—a National Credit Authority, a just price based on production, and ample provision made for the incapacitated. New Zealand is tremendously wealthy in all that goes to make for peace and happiness, not only for ourselves, but for our children, and kith and kin In the Homeland who desire to make their homes with us, and .still further promote our happiness. Lord ißledisloe more than once truly remarked that New Zealand would become the Britain of the South, which remark, by the way, also appeared in the issue of the Waikato Times on December 4, 1928. It entirely rests with- the people and leadership 'to make it so, which means a little more patience and a lot more thought by the people.—l am, etc., G. W. RICHARDS. Hamilton, May 1, 1935.
