The only persons to welcome them at the station were the Lawn Tennis Association officials and Andrews of the New Zealand team. Andrews told tho Australian Press Association that Stcdman and Malfroy will play In the singles against Australia. The doubles pair have not been chosen.

Third round: Farquharson beat Lee, 10—8, 6—4, 6—l; Prenn beat Sharpe, 7 — s_ 6 —2, 6—l; Perry beat Peters, 7—5, 6—3, 9—7. Men’s Doubles. First round: Farquharson and Kirby beat Sharpe and Tuokey, 4—6, 9—7, 2 —G, G—o, 6—3; Porry and Butler beat W. Henderson and Lysaght, 6—3, 2—6, 6 —4, 6 —3. Women’s Singles.
