WOMAN SHOT

ON RAILWAY STATION. LOADED QUN IN GOODS VAN. (From a. -Correspondent). SYDNEY. April 25. Mrs Mcfiulnness, of Artarmon, was the victim of a very unusual accident at the Central railway station towoman was standing on a platform with a number of friends awaiting a train, when there.was the sound of a rifle shot. She screamed and fell to the ground, with a bullet wound in her thigh. , _ It transpires that railway employees were loading a goods van on the station -platform, and one man, in handling a .pea rifle, allowed the weapon to fall- Immediately it touched the floor of the van there was a sudden explosion, and they were amazed when they heard a woman scream. It was thought that the gun was unloaded. The ambulance was summoned, and Mrs McGuinness was rushed to hospital, where it was found that the wound was not of a serious nature, and after treatment she was allowed to return to her home.
